The M62 westbound carriageway was closed for several hours following a serious collision near the Ouse Bridge this morning.
The incident involving numerous vehicles occurred at 7.50am on Wednesday September 15.
Fire, ambulance and police crews were dispatched to the scene between junctions 36 and 37.
Two people were taken to hospital as a result of the crash. Police have not confirmed if any arrests have been made.
All three lanes of the motorway are now open, but some motorists were caught up in tailbacks going back around five miles.
Motorists were stuck in traffic for hours and were told to avoid the area. (16-09-48 GT)
